It's not very often you see the phrase "vaguely orthopedic" in a fashion mag. Lucky tries to explain why every magazine is suddenly showing birkenstock knockoffs as a fall/winter trend. Personally I think it's less rebellion against the shoe trends of the past few years (impossibly high heels) and more a tacit admission that no one can wear that trend all the time without hurting themselves. Maybe I should just be happy that I've been accidentally on-trend when I schlep around in my Adidas slides!

Personally I think it's less rebellion against the shoe trends of the past few years (impossibly high heels) and more a tacit admission that no one can wear that trend all the time without hurting themselves. Maybe I should just be happy that I've been accidentally on-trend when I schlep around in my Adidas slides!
