Maybe I'm taking this personally because I'm such a huge fan of the "Hunger Games" book series, but it's just not cool to compare a fictional nation full of starving slaves (or publish in a nonfictional nation and world in which hunger is a very real thing) to a weight loss plan for people who can afford to eat or not eat on a whim. NOT COOL.
I will confess the author won me over a bit in the first paragraphs by admitting she's like me and doesn't ever "forget" to eat. But the whole article becomes a bit of a muddle when she has to admit no one even knows how long to fast (skip breakfast? go until dinner? go all day?) or how many days a week to do it (just one? several? most?). In the end, we're supposed to eat healthy when we feel like we should. Ground-breaking.
